Mourinho wants Tottenham keeper
Friday 8th October
Jose Mourinho has only used one of his goalkeepers at Roma so far, summer signing Rui Patricio.
Where backup Daniel Fuzato falls into his plans will only become clear in the long-term, but even so, Mourinho is still looking further to the future.
According to the Evening Standard, he wants Roma to sign Joshua Oluwayemi. He is a 20-year-old from Mourinho’s former club Tottenham Hotspur.
He has never played for their senior side, so would be an investment for the future.
Fiorentina to target Mayoral
Wednesday 6th October
Borja Mayoral is struggling to find space in Roma’s lineup despite Jose Mourinho wanting three strikers in his squad. Therefore, there have been murmurs of an exit for a few weeks now.
Mayoral is only on loan from Real Madrid until the end of the season and that spell could even be interrupted. Either way, it seems highly unlikely he will play for Roma in the 2022-23 season.
Meanwhile, La Nazione claim Fiorentina are looking at him as a potential successor to Dusan Vlahovic, who will be leaving La Viola.
Roma open Zakaria talks

He was an option in the summer for Roma, but they have had to wait. Now, though, Fabrizio Romano collates claims with Gianluca Di Marzio that the Giallorossi have opened talks over the signing of the Switzerland international again.
Although he is available for free in the summer, Roma will try to negotiate a fee with Gladbach to take him in January.
Two Eredivise right-back links
Tuesday 5th October
Roma need more depth at right-back, where Rick Karsdorp is the only player Jose Mourinho trusts. In January, it is something they will look to rectify in the transfer market.
In that regard, two new links have emerged. First, Calciomercato.it have reported of Roma’s interest in Ajax’s Noussair Mazraoui. Out of contract at the end of the season, he is also admired by Juventus and Milan.
However, a deal would only be likely as a free transfer next summer, and Roma can’t really wait until then.
Alternatively, Roma could look elsewhere in the Eredivisie. According to Leggo, Feyenoord’s Marcus Holmgren Pedersen could be an option.
Coming from the same club Roma bought Karsdorp from, he is still young, but may be a better fit than Bryan Reynolds as the main alternative to the Dutchman.
It is speculated that Tiago Pinto could offer €3m to sign him.
Roma reconsider Rudiger?
Tuesday 5th October
A year has passed since Roma made Chris Smalling’s transfer permanent. Unfortunately, due to a range of injuries, it has not been worth the wait as they were expecting.
Therefore, the club could consider a new centre-back to provide experience. In doing so, SportMediaset think they could turn back to a familiar face.
The man in question is Antonio Rudiger, who wore the Giallorossi colours between 2015 and 2017 before leaving for Chelsea. He is in the last year of his contract there and seems unlikely to renew, despite establishing himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League.
Whether Roma could tempt him back is unclear, especially given his wage demands.
Villar has two suitors
Wednesday 29th September
One of the players at risk of being shifted to make room for a new starter in midfield is current backup option Gonzalo Villar.
Yet to feature in Serie A under Jose Mourinho, the Spaniard was linked with an exit over the summer but eventually stayed after a 2020-21 season of highs and lows.
A January transfer away remains possible and Fichajes in his native Spain think they know two clubs who want him.
First, Everton could take him to the Premier League. Alternatively, ex-Roma boss Luciano Spalletti could lure him to Napoli.
