Cremonese keen on Felix as Belotti timescale extends
Thursday 18th August
Roma are still struggling to move Eldor Shomurodov on to make room for Andrea Belotti, which means Felix Afena-Gyan is now at risk of being sacrificed despite a recent contract extension.
According to FootballNews24, Sky Sport and some other sources, Serie A newcomers Cremonese are showing an interest in the Ghana forward.
Meanwhile, Corriere Della Sera claim that Belotti’s deadline for Roma is now set for Sunday. If the Giallorossi cannot acquire him by then, he may go somewhere else, like Nice.
Big Bologna meeting for Shomurodov today
Tuesday 16th August
Roma are getting anxious in their pursuit of free-agent striker Andrea Belotti, due to their inability to shift Eldor Shomurodov yet.
However, Il Messaggero have reported that there will be a pivotal meeting with Bologna today to try and send the Uzbekistan international there.
The two clubs will have to try and find a middle-ground over the terms of the transfer. Roma want a sale, whereas Bologna want an initial loan. Today should see them attempt to resolve those differences.
Kluivert keen on Fulham move
Tuesday 16th August
Justin Kluivert is still on Roma’s books and that needs to change. The winger has no place in Jose Mourinho’s plans after two years away on loan, so is on the lookout for a new club.
He could end up in the Premier League, where there have been increasingly frequent reports about Fulham wanting him.
According to Foot Mercato, Kluivert has now said yes to the London-based outfit. It all hinges on an agreement between the two clubs, though, which is complicated due to his contract expiring next year.
Still, Fulham think they can take him on loan with an option to buy for €12m, which would become permanent automatically if they stay up. That said, they have suffered relegation back to the Championship the last two times they have been promoted, so Roma would have to be wary.
El Shaarawy expected to stay
Tuesday 16th August
One of the substitutes who came on for Roma at the weekend, Stephan El Shaarawy, is now being tipped to stay at the club.
Among the longest-serving players in the squad – if ignoring his stint away in China – the winger is now a depth player, but can still be useful.
After attracting Monza and Atalanta earlier in the summer, Il Messaggero now write that El Shaarawy is set to stay at Roma into the final year of his contract.
