Xhaka comments on Roma link

There is optimism a deal can be concluded soon, though, and the Switzerland international has now opened up about the links.
When asked about Roma’s interest, he said: “Arsenal know what I want to do.”
Wolves want €12m for Patricio

Embed from Getty ImagesRoma remain in the hunt for Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio as he performs for Portugal at Euro 2020. But despite recent reports indicating a deal was close for an up front fee of €6m, it may cost more.
According to Il Tempo, Wolves are holding firm over their €12m asking price for the 33-year-old. However, he has already given his approval to the transfer, so will hope to be freed up soon.
Meanwhile, current number one Pau Lopez continues to be linked with an exit. While Marseille were mentioned as leading contenders recently, Mundo Deportivo suggest Barcelona are looking at him as a possible backup option. Valencia and Granada could also take him back to La Liga.
Pinto contacts Botman agents, but other defenders in mind

Embed from Getty ImagesChris Smalling continues to be linked with a premature departure from Roma, with SportItalia the latest to tip him to join Everton, in which case Sven Botman is being increasingly linked to replace him.
The Dutch defender helped Lille win Ligue 1 in 2020-21 and according to Il Messaggero, Roma general manager Tiago Pinto has now made contact with his representatives.
Botman could cost around €25m.
There are other options in mind, though. Manchester City’s Nathan Ake remains on the agenda, while there is still a chance that Nikola Maksimovic could join as a free agent despite Lazio appearing to be close to him.
Another alternative is Sevilla’s Diego Carlos, who costs around €30m. Would former sporting director Monchi want to deal with Roma, though?
Mancini made Inter target

Embed from Getty ImagesOne of Roma’s best players last season, Gianluca Mancini was unlucky to miss out on the final Italy squad for Euro 2020. However, he could still have a busy summer in relation to transfer rumours.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, champions Inter have identified him as their main target if they sell Milan Skriniar. Mancini grew up as an Inter fan, but that did not stop him celebrating passionately when scoring a dramatic equaliser against them for Roma earlier this year.
Previous reports have indicated that Roma are working on extending the contract of the former Atalanta centre-back to prevent such an exit.
Lopez leaving in double move?

Embed from Getty ImagesWith Rui Patricio on the verge of joining Roma, a solution needs to be found for current first choice Pau Lopez. Fortunately, it seems one is close.
Sky Sport Italia and Fabrizio Romano both report that Lopez is ready to join Marseille on loan with an option to buy for around €15m.
He will be followed by winger Cengiz Under, who was unsuccessful on loan at Leicester last season and has no place in Jose Mourinho’s plans.
Antonucci close to Cittadella

After a loan spell at Salernitana, who won promotion, Antonucci is now set to remain in Serie B. According to Alfredo Pedulla of SportItalia, the winger will join Cittadella on a permanent basis, signing a three-year contract.
Milanese may leave

According to Il Tempo, one of the Primavera products to make an impression last season, Tommaso Milanese, is edging towards a permanent departure after not being called up for pre-season.
His fellow academy product Edoardo Bove could leave on loan for a Serie B club.
Lopez linked with Ligue 1

It might be hard for Roma to recoup their money, but they have at least found some suitors for Lopez. The latest is Marseille, according to Sky Sport.
Demiral for the defence?

The Turkey international is believed to be up for sale by Juve after struggling with injuries and competition for places there. However, he could still cost €40m, and the Turin side do not want any players included in a swap.
Milan offer Leao in Pellegrini swap?

He seemingly wants to stay despite links with Liverpool and Barcelona, but now a new suitor has come in for him.
According to MilanLive, AC Milan are looking at the Italy international and are willing to offer forward Rafael Leao in a swap deal.
Pellegrini’s preference will surely still be at Roma, but it will be interesting to see how things develop.
Kalajdzic could replace Dzeko

In recent weeks, the name of Sasa Kalajdzic has appeared more frequently in Roma transfer updates. The Stuttgart striker scored 16 goals in the Bundesliga last season and is currently at Euro 2020 with Austria.
Gazzetta Dello Sport are the latest to provide an update on Roma’s interest, claiming Kalajdzic is at the top of the shortlist to replace Edin Dzeko if the former club captain leaves.
As things stand, though, the Bosnian is still contracted to Roma for another season and Jose Mourinho may be keen to work with him.
Mourinho to decide Darboe future

Having tasted senior football, Darboe will be keen to continue at that level. However, Jose Mourinho might not be able to offer him regular gametime at Roma.
Il Tempo report that the incoming coach will be the one to decide Darboe’s future, despite Calciomercato claiming the club wanting to offer him a contract extension until 2026.
In the background, Belgian side Anderlecht are showing an interest. Mourinho will make up his mind before July 20th.
Kostic closer to Roma

The Eintracht Frankfurt winger was reportedly offered to the club recently and it seems they have been receptive to those advances.
Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Roma like the Serbian attacker, who can also play as a wing-back.
Inter and Lazio are also keen, but LaRoma24 claim that Roma could use Cengiz Under as part of a deal to sweeten things with Frankfurt, who want €35m for the 28-year-old.
Ramos offer revealed

The club could reunite the former Real Madrid captain with Jose Mourinho if he agrees to join them. He would have to lower his salary, but Italy’s tax breaks for arriving foreign players could be a benefit.
According to La Repubblica, Roma’s offer to Ramos is a €6m salary (plus €2m in bonuses) for a two-year contract.
It would be around one-third less than what he earned in Madrid, so it still seems a dream, but it appears the rumours will continue.
Atalanta after Florenzi

According to Il Romanista, one avenue away from the capital for Florenzi could be to Atalanta. La Dea have registered their interest and could complete a swap deal that would see Roma sign goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini, if they also pay €6m-€8m.
Roma ask about Pessina

Now on the radar of a number of clubs, Calciomercato reveal that Roma have asked for information about the former Milan product in recent months.

Ibanez interests Real Madrid

Botman an option to succeed Smalling

According to Il Romanista, Roma are monitoring the Lille centre-back, who is valued at around €25m. A Ligue 1 title winner last season, the 21-year-old would be a long-term reinforcement. However, Roma cannot afford his price tag without selling some players first.
Calafiori could leave on loan

The academy graduate made a handful of first-team appearances last season and even scored a wonder goal, but according to Corriere Della Sera, he may have to make way on loan to build up his experience.
Jose Mourinho, who recently posted a video of himself analysing Calafiori, will make the final call.
These player links to Roma FC are quality ones which will definitely help Roma challenge for Champions league.
