Official: Pedro becomes the first signing of the new Roma era

Roma have officially completed the signing of Pedro on a three-year contract.

The Spanish winger, 33, joins as a free agent after Chelsea released him this summer.

Pedro told the club website: “I am delighted to be here at Roma.

“I’m excited for this challenge and to compete to achieve our targets over the coming seasons.

“I want to thank the fans for the welcome they’ve given me. I hope to make them happy.”

As a player, Pedro needs no introductions. The forward came through Barcelona’s academy, going on to win five La Liga titles, three Champions Leagues, and three Copas Del Rey, among nine other trophies.

Pedro moved to England in 2015 to join Chelsea, where he won the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League.

At international level, Pedro has 65 caps for Spain. He was part of their squads that won the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012.

This will be his first time playing in Serie A, but his trophy record speaks for itself. Pedro will bring a wealth of experience and quality to Roma’s attack.

He becomes the first signing since the club’s ownership passed into the hands of the Friedkin Group.

Benvenuto, Pedro!
