Mert Cetin leaves Roma for Verona loan

Roma have confirmed the departure of Mert Cetin to Hellas Verona.

The Turkish defender heads to Verona on a season-long loan, with his new club having the option to buy him at the end of that. Should they exercise their option, Roma will have a buyback clause.

Cetin joined Roma from Genclerbirligi in summer 2019. He made just six appearances for the club in his first season in the capital, and received a red card in one of those.

The 23-year-old will now continue his development at Verona. Reports claim Roma’s buyback option, if Verona purchase him next summer, will be around €15m.

Good luck, Mert.
