Alessio Riccardi has ended his association with Roma to sign for Latina.
Once tipped for big things with his hometown team, Riccardi’s Roma adventure has instead ended at the tally of just one appearance, which came as a substitute in a Coppa Italia game against Virtus Entella back in January 2019.
A loan spell with Serie B side Pescara followed in 2020-21, but it was not overly productive. Since then, Riccardi has been in limbo back at Roma.
After refusing several exit routes, he has now departed one year ahead of the end of his contract.
The 21-year-old is dropping down to the third tier to sign a contract with Latina, where he will be hoping to get his career back up and running – even if he will never hit the heights some expected of him.
