Roma have sealed a deadline day deal to sign Victor Nelsson from Galatasaray.
Nelsson has joined on loan for the rest of the season as a replacement for Mario Hermoso, who left for Bayer Leverkusen earlier in the winter transfer window on a loan deal of his own.
It will be the Denmark international’s first taste of Serie A after previously playing for Nordsjaelland and Copenhagen before Galatasaray, where he has been since 2021.
The 26-year-old is a right-footed centre-back, who was quickly identified as an alternative target after Claudio Ranieri revealed Empoli’s Saba Goglichidze wouldn’t be arriving.
Nelsson has played 144 times for Galatasaray, including 18 appearances this season.
He will wear the number 25 shirt for Roma, who will have the option to buy him in the summer for a reported fee of €10m.
