Amine Gouiri heads list of three younger attacking targets for Roma – report

Nice starlet Amine Gouiri is among three of the younger names on Roma’s list of striker targets, according to a report.

Gouiri has scored 16 goals for the French side this season, including four in the Europa League. Still only 21 years old, he is demonstrating his potential.

Roma are searching far and wide for a new striker and Gouiri is on their radar, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.

With Edin Dzeko expected to leave at the end of the season, another option will be needed alongside Borja Mayoral. Gouiri could be one candidate to fill the role – although there are many.

While Roma have been linked with big names like Alexandre Lacazette and Andrea Belotti, they are also looking at younger options for the future. Gouiri is one of them, but so are Liel Abada and Zion Atta, Gazzetta claim.

Abada currently plies his trade in his native Israel, where he has been a first-team player for Maccabi Petah Tikva since 2019. The 21-year-old has already earned the honour of wearing their number 10 shirt.

Atta, meanwhile, is currently at Crystal Palace. More of a winger, he was born in England but also has Italian citizenship. Still only a teenager, he would likely be a prospect for the club’s academy rather than first team.

Gouiri would be the most high-profile of these three potential targets, but it is likely Roma will need to spend bigger to land a suitable replacement for Dzeko. The other profiles seem simply to be longer-term projects rather than immediate reinforcements.
