Underwhelming Roma on receiving end of comfortable Inter Milan win

Roma were played off their own park as they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Inter Milan on Saturday.

Inter arrived at Stadio Olimpico as favourites to win, but the manner in which they overpowered Roma was cause for concern.

The champions took the lead in the 15th minute when Hakan Calhanoglu scored directly from a corner.

Inevitably, returning former Roma captain Edin Dzeko scored against his former side to make it 2-0 after 24 minutes.

Then, it was 3-0 in the 39th minute when Denzel Dumfries was allowed to drift in at the backpost before heading home.

Inter took their foot off the gas a bit in the second half and Roma defended marginally better – plus there was a close chance for Nicolo Zaniolo – but the result had long since been decided.
