Roma have loaned Anass Salah-Eddine out to Panathinaikos, who will have an option to buy him next year.
Salah-Eddine spent last season on loan at PSV, but turned down the chance to join them permanently, before doing so for various other offers too, despite not being part of Roma’s plans.
He risked half a season or more on the sidelines, but the Greek transfer window still being open has given him the chance to go to Panathinaikos.
Interestingly, Olympiacos are believed to be one of the other clubs he rejected this summer, but he is ending up in Greece after all.
Panathinaikos’ option to buy Salah-Eddine will be for €7m plus €1m in add-ons, which would come to a similar amount to what PSV’s was.
The left-back, who went to the World Cup with Morocco in the summer, only ever made three appearances for Roma, in February and March 2025.
