Pellegrini could miss two months after fracturing metatarsal

Lorenzo Pellegrini has been sidelined with a fractured metatarsal, Roma have confirmed.

The attacking midfielder was taken off in the second half of Roma’s 1-0 win over Lecce on Sunday, having to limp around the field of play.

The club have since announced that the 23-year-old has injured the fifth metatarsal of his right foot, with corrections due to take place on Tuesday – after which, the length of his time on the sidelines will be clearer.

Il Tempo‘s Alessandro Austini warns that Pellegrini – who started the season in sensational form – is likely to miss at least one-and-a-half months of action, with his return perhaps not coming until December.
