Today is the 65th birthday of legendary Roma striker Roberto Pruzzo, who was the club’s leading marksman of their early 1980s heyday.
Pruzzo spent a decade with Roma, helping them win their second ever Serie A title in 1983.
During his spell with the club, he overtook Amedeo Amadei as Roma’s all-time leading goalscorer, a record that stood the test of time until the emergence of Francesco Totti years down the line.
In total, Pruzzo scored 138 goals for the club from 315 appearances – a record which saw him become one of the first inductees into the Roma Hall of Fame in 2012.
