Roma have confirmed the departure of William Bianda, one of Monchi’s signings who was not ready for first-team football, on loan to French side Nancy.
An eyebrow-raising signing at the time, the defender was playing – infrequently – in the French second tier when Monchi signalled Roma to spend an initial €5m, potentially rising to €10m, on him in 2018.
Needless to say, it has not worked out for Bianda, who has never even made a matchday squad for Roma.
He was loaned to Zulte-Waregem last season, but was sent off in a December game and never played again.
The 21-year-old is now returning to France, where he has signed for Nancy, who currently play in Ligue 2.
