Roma have qualified for next season’s Europa League by winning their final Serie A game 3-0 against Torino.
A brace from Tammy Abraham and penalty from Lorenzo Pellegrini earned Roma the win they needed to guarantee a top-six finish. They will find out after Lazio’s game against Verona on Saturday whether they will come fifth or sixth in the final standings; either way, they have improved upon last season’s placing and points tally.
Against Torino, Abraham broke the deadlock in the first half with a fine swivel and finish in the box, before doubling the lead with a penalty he had won himself.
In the second half, captain Pellegrini took on the next responsibility of scoring from the spot, despite Abraham still being on the pitch and having the chance to complete a hat-trick.
In the end, Roma have stood themselves in good stead for the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday, which they will go into knowing they will be in a bigger competition next year.
