Stephanie Ohrstrom has signed for Roma Women to ensure Alessandro Spugna has three senior goalkeepers at his disposal next season.
Ohrstrom, 35, has been in Italian football for over a decade. Her longest spell was with Verona, where she won a league title, before recording the same achievement with Fiorentina.
Last summer, she signed for Lazio ahead of their promotion to Serie A Femminile, but will not be dropping down to the second tier with them after their relegation. Instead, she has moved across Rome to sign for the Giallorosse.
Her contract will last until June 2024.
Roma’s statement has confirmed Ohrstrom will be competing with existing options Camelia Ceasar and Swedish compatriot Emma Lind within the goalkeeping department.
Ohrstrom told the club website: “Roma are a club that I have always admired; in recent seasons the results have been self-evident and the team plays the best football in Serie A.
“That’s why I am so pleased to be joining this club.
“My aim is to give my best, making sure I am ready at any moment, and I hope that I will win something with this team.”
