Roma have turned their focus to Manchester United veteran Sergio Romero in their search for new goalkeepers, according to reports.
With Pau Lopez injured and Antonio Mirante out of contract, Roma may well need to sign two new goalkeepers in the summer. At the very least, a new backup will be required to replace Mirante.
To fill that role, Roma could target Romero, who has fallen out of favour in Manchester.
Out of contract at the end of the season, he is ready to find a new home. He has experience in Italy from beforehand and therefore has been mentioned as a possible target for Roma.
The Daily Telegraph have noted that Jose Mourinho trusted the Argentine when they were at Man Utd together. Hence, he could try to lure him to Rome.
There are a number of clubs in the race for Romero, though, so it remains to be seen if he would be willing to join a club where he wouldn’t necessarily be number one.
