Roma have agreement in place for Udinese keeper Juan Musso – report

Roma have reportedly reached a preliminary agreement for Udinese goalkeeper Juan Musso ahead of the summer transfer window.

Sunday’s game against Udinese gave Roma the chance to see one of their main goalkeeping targets for the summer up close. Although Musso conceded three goals, Roma have not been put off in their pursuit of him.

Instead, they used the opportunity to hold further talks with Udinese. According to Sport Italia, discussions between the two clubs during the weekend of the game were productive.

Roma general manager Tiago Pinto has seemingly struck an agreement with Udinese to sign Musso in the summer. Obviously, this is not official yet and there will likely be further hurdles to overcome, but it is a strong step in the right direction.

The goalkeeping position will be a priority for Roma in the summer, despite Pau Lopez improving in recent weeks. The club are still on the lookout for a more reliable number one.

Musso seems to be the man they have chosen, and it appears Roma are now firmly in pole position, ahead of Inter, for his signature.

Meanwhile, a report from Tuttomercatoweb claims that backup goalkeeper Antonio Mirante will be offered a new contract.

An article on this website explained recently why that would be a good idea. Although it is extremely unlikely Pinto read it, it appears he is of the same opinion.

Therefore, Roma’s last line of defence is likely to consist of Musso and Mirante next season. What the future holds for Lopez and Daniel Fuzato remains unclear.
