Roma confirm Bryan Cristante’s new contract

Roma captain Bryan Cristante has officially extended his contract, which will take him beyond a decade of service to the club.

Cristante joined Roma from Atalanta in 2018 and has made 364 appearances in the time since, which puts him joint-10th on the club’s all-time list.

The 31-year-old’s new contract will last until 2028, meaning he will be part of the club’s centenary season.

Cristante’s previous deal was due to expire at the end of next season, in which he will be representing Roma in the Champions League for the first time since his debut season.

It hadn’t been lost on some of Cristante’s critics that Roma hadn’t qualified for the Champions League since his arrival, but he helped the side finally put that right by the end of last season, in which he only missed one league game.

This is the third contract extension Cristante has signed since making his move permanent in 2019.
