The agent of Ivorian midfielder Jean Michael Seri has confirmed that Roma have been in contact over a potential transfer.
Seri was one of the most highly coveted midfielders in Europe last summer after impressing for Nice, so it was something of a surprise when he chose to join Premier League newcomers Fulham.
Despite their big spending, the season did not go to plan for the London-based side – even Claudio Ranieri couldn’t revive their fortunes – and they suffered an instant relegation back to the Championship, meaning several of their stars could leave.
Roma are looking to strengthen their midfield, having already acquired Amadou Diawara from Napoli, and it appears they are now back in for Seri, a player who interested them last summer.
“We spoke with Roma two weeks ago,” said his agent, Franklin Mala, to Teleradiostereo. “We will see how the situation evolves. Jean Michael would like to play in Serie A and Roma is a great club.”
Seri, aged 27, has three years left on his contract with Fulham.
