Roma will be aiming to return to winning ways when they visit Venezia on Sunday.
After going two games without a win, Roma have the chance to head into the international break on a better note. Their next opponents are Venezia, who are in their first season in Serie A since their promotion.
Venezia have won just two of their first 11 matches in the top flight, sitting just above the relegation zone at present. Roma, on the other hand, are aiming to keep hold of a top-four place.
They go into the game on the back of a draw with Bodo/Glimt in the Europa Conference League. Jose Mourinho may make some alterations to his lineup compared to that challenge.
There were some fitness concerns for captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, but Mourinho confirmed he should be available. Left-back Riccardo Calafiori, meanwhile, is injured, leaving the coach to pick between Roger Ibanez or Filippo Tripi there. The only certainty in defence will be Gianluca Mancini at centre-back.
Some questions have been asked of Tammy Abraham’s role up front, but only time will tell if he keeps his place or Mourinho turns to Eldor Shomurodov or Borja Mayoral (who received praise from the coach in his pre-match press conference).
These two sides have not met since the 2001-02 season, but the head-to-head records favour Roma, who will be hoping to get the job done.
The game kicks off at 11:30am UK time on Sunday. BT Sport 1 will be showing it live.
