Pomigliano v Roma Women preview: Start of Serie A Femminile season

After making progress in the Champions League, Roma Women resume their Serie A Femminile duties at the start of the 2022-23 season on Sunday.

Following last season’s second-place finish, Roma seem to have established themselves as strong competitors in the top flight. They have cemented their progress by beginning the current season with advancement to the next round of the Champions League.

Now, it is time for the Serie A season to get underway. For Roma, it begins with an away game against Pomigliano, whom they beat 2-1 and 5-2 last term. The trip towards Naples should be a promising one to kick things off with.

There could be the chance for new signings to make their league bows for Roma, such as Valentina Giacinti and Norma Cinotti. Moeka Minami, who has started both Champions League matches so far, could be playing in Serie A for the first time.

Fellow new arrivals Carina Wenninger and Elin Landstrom, both yet to debut, are also in the squad.

For the hosts, who finished eighth last season, there could be a chance for on-loan forward Alice Corelli to play against her parent club.

The game kicks off at 4:30pm UK time.
