Roma Women must make it two wins out of two if they are to continue their Champions League adventure, as a clash with Paris FC awaits on Sunday.
After beating Glasgow City on Thursday, Roma are now through to their qualifying group final. It is between them and Paris FC for a place in the next round.
This could be more challenging than the Glasgow City game was, given the stature of the French league. But Roma were up against a decent side on Thursday and gave a good account of themselves, so will be hoping to again.
If they can get the win, Roma will be through to Round 2, where they would face either another group winner or one of the teams who qualified automatically for the next stage via the League Path. But there can be no thoughts of that stage just yet – a crucial game awaits first.
Paris FC – who, after coming third in the 2021-22 D1 Feminine, beat Servette 3-0 on Thursday to reach this point – have a couple of players who were in the France squad at Euro 2022, which Italy would rather forget. At club level, though, Roma will be hoping it is a different story.
The game, once again held at Petershill Park in Scotland, kicks off at 6pm UK time. It should be available to watch live – albeit not for free – via the Recast platform (check Glasgow City’s Twitter account for details).
