Official: Defender Marcano leaves Roma to return to Porto

Roma have sold defender Ivan Marcano back to former club Porto, where he has signed a four-year contract.

Marcano joined Roma on a free last summer, but didn’t play as often as would have been expected – making just 13 appearances.

He scored his only Roma goal in the Coppa Italia win over third-tier side Virtus Entella in January.

Porto confirmed Marcano’s return via Twitter earlier today. They have paid Roma €3m for the defender.
