Roma finally land left winger as Bryan Zaragoza joins

Roma have finally secured themselves a new left winger after signing Bryan Zaragoza on loan from Bayern Munich.

The search for a left winger was the overarching topic of Roma’s summer transfer window, but it ended in frustration as the likes of Jadon Sancho, Claudio Echeverri and Tyrique George remained out of their grasp for various reasons.

Then, earlier in the January transfer window, Roma looked at Giacomo Raspadori as a potential solution, but he chose Atalanta instead.

Now, on deadline day, Roma have finally brought in a new right-footed left winger in the shape of Zaragoza.

The 24-year-old Spain international has been playing for Celta de Vigo during the first half of the season, but was on loan there from Bayern Munich. An agreement was reached between all three clubs to facilitate Zaragoza’s first move into Italian football.

The terms of the deal are a loan with an option to buy, which reportedly could become an obligation on certain conditions. Furthermore, there have been reports that Roma may have to pay a penalty fee if they don’t proceed with the permanent transfer in the summer.

Zaragoza will wear the number 97 shirt for Roma.
