Roma give Ghisolfi the reins as technical director

Roma have officially appointed Florent Ghisolfi as their new technical director ahead of the summer transfer window.

Ghisolfi will arrive after spells as a sporting director for Lens and Nice in his native France, having previously played as a midfielder for Bastia and Reims.

The 39-year-old will now become a key part of Roma’s evolving sporting structure, focusing closely on the transfer market to help strengthen Daniele De Rossi’s side.

His role effectively makes him the successor to Tiago Pinto, who stood down as Roma’s general manager of football after the January transfer window closed.

As was the case for Pinto, this will be Ghisolfi’s first endeavour in Italian football. Previously, he helped Lens rise from Ligue 2 to Ligue 1 (they went on to finish as runners up last season, by which time he had moved to Nice).

Roma’s statement has not yet confirmed Ghisolfi’s contract length or carried any quotes from him.
