No way past Bodo/Glimt again for Roma after Conference League draw

Roma could once again not find a way to beat Bodo/Glimt as they drew 2-2 in their latest Europa Conference League match.

After the horrors of the 6-1 defeat suffered in the reverse fixture, it could have been a lot worse, but there was still no statement response from Roma.

They fell behind twice – first to an incredibly accurate effort from Ola Solbakken and then to a simple header by an unmarked Erik Botheim – before twice equalising. Stephan El Shaarawy scored Roma’s first with a cut in and shot, and Roger Ibanez got the final equaliser with a header found to be over the line by goalline technology.

But it was not the win Roma had been hoping for and they now look unlikely to win their group. There were some whistles from the crowd at various points in the game.

It has been a tough spell for Jose Mourinho in recent weeks and the international break should be a much-needed chance to reset.
