The Serie A schedule has been drawn for the 2021-22 season, which Roma will begin with a home game against Fiorentina and conclude with an away match at Torino.
Jose Mourinho will thus begin his Roma tenure against La Viola on the weekend of August 22nd, kicking things off with a home match.
The target for Roma is to improve upon last season’s seventh placed finish, so a good start will be necessary.
Also awaiting in the first few weeks are newly promoted Salernitana, then Sassuolo, Verona and Udinese, before the first Rome derby of the season takes place on matchday six.
For the first time, Serie A will not follow a symmetrical calendar this season. Rather than the fixture list repeating from the halfway stage, clubs will face each other in a different order.
Thus, the second half of the campaign will begin away at AC Milan in the first weekend of January after a winter break.
The season will come to a close with a trip to Torino.
Other standout fixtures see Roma play Juventus away on October 17th and at home on January 9th, Mourinho’s former club Inter on December 5th at home and April 24th away, while the home Derby against Lazio will be on the weekend of March 20th.
