Robin Olsen has left Roma to join Everton on loan for the season.
Olsen failed to live up to expectations after joining the club in 2018, losing his starting place to Antonio Mirante.
The Swedish goalkeeper spent last season on loan at Cagliari, and will now spend another year away from Rome.
Everton were also considering Roma’s Pau Lopez, but the deal for Olsen was easier.
Olsen will now spend a season in the Premier League, working under former Roma midfielder Carlo Ancelotti.
The transfer window in England closed later than in Italy, allowing the deal to go through.
