Giuseppe Giannini is one of the most fondly remembered players to graduate the Roma academy and become a first team legend.
Born in Rome on 20th August, 1964, Giannini became a regular for his boyhood club in the 1980s and 1990s.
A young Francesco Totti idolised him, and would later go on to follow in Giannini’s footsteps by wearing the captain’s armband and the number 10 shirt for Roma.
There were 15 years between Giannini’s first and last Roma appearances. In that time, he won four trophies, and became the club’s highest scoring midfielder of all-time with 75 goals.
