Roma reach Conference League knockouts after Abraham brace in win over Zorya

Tammy Abraham scored twice as Roma beat Zorya Luhansk 4-0 to reach the knockout stages of the Europa Conference League.

It will go down to the final matchday to determine if they will do so as group winners or runners up, but the important thing is that qualification is secured.

Roma were comfortable right from the start against Zorya. Carles Perez put them ahead in the 15th minute, before Nicolo Zaniolo doubled the lead on 33 minutes.

It could have been out of sight before the break, only for Jordan Veretout to miss a penalty. But then, in the second half, there were no further concerns.

Abraham – who had missed a couple of big chances – scored in the 46th and 75th minutes, with the latter being a bicycle kick, to put the icing on the cake.

Roma seem to be back on track and can take plenty of confidence from a big win while acknowledging they could have done even better.
