There have been a huge number of names linked with Roma since the arrival of Jose Mourinho, but one who seems to be a genuine target is Marcel Sabitzer.
The RB Leipzig midfielder is about to enter the final year of his contract with the Bundesliga club and is considering a change of scenery.
Mourinho wanted him at Tottenham ever since his goals for Leipzig knocked them out of last season’s Champions League. Now, he may try and lure him to Roma instead.
Sabitzer was mentioned on a lengthy list of targets from Calciomercato recently, before Gazzetta Dello Sport carried similar news. Then, Paolo Rocchetti of Tele Radio Stereo and La Roma 24 confirmed that he is a real option.
Rocchetti also confirmed that Renato Sanches and Nemanja Matic are on Roma’s shortlist to strengthen in midfield, which it seems is a priority area for Mourinho.
