The agent of Nicola Zalewski praised the winger after he played a big part in the winning goal on his Roma debut against Manchester United on Thursday.
Zalewski entered the action in the second half of the second leg of the Europa League semi-final. He may have been in line for a debut earlier in the season had it not been for a positive Covid-19 test, but made his mark when the time did come for his maiden bow.
The Italian-born Polish youth international struck the shot that was deflected in for Roma’s winning goal in a 3-2 triumph at Stadio Olimpico.
With little left to play for in the remaining Serie A games, it may not be his last opportunity this season.
What the future holds remains unclear, but his agent Giovanni Ferro was pleased to see his client announcing himself on such a big stage.
“I would like to congratulate Nicola for his clearness and calmness on his first-team debut in such an important match,” Ferro told Voce Giallorossa. “I take the opportunity to thank Roma, the coach Paulo Fonseca and Morgan De Sanctis who have always believed in Nicola’s potential.

Much like teammate Ebrima Darboe, who also showed his potential against United, the attention will soon turn to what will happen next season to continue his development.
Ferro was not ready to reveal what might be the solution yet, though.
“In the meantime, let’s enjoy this extraordinary moment,” he said. “Tiago Pinto and Jose Mourinho will decide Nicola’s future to find the best possible path for his growth.”
Ferro – who also represents club captain Lorenzo Pellegrini – is hoping to see another of his clients make his Roma debut before the season is out, with Riccardo Ciervo also knocking on the door of the first team.
“We know his qualities and we expect his first-team debut soon,” Ferro said.
