Edin Dzeko recorded an impressive achievement of scoring 100 goals for Roma on Saturday when he headed home against Sassuolo.
Despite being on the losing side, the landmark that Dzeko has passed cements his legacy as one of the club’s most prolific goalscorers ever.
Only Francesco Totti (307), Roberto Pruzzo (138), Amedeo Amadei (111), Rodolfo Volk (106), Pedro Manfredini (104) and Vincenzo Montella (102) have scored more goals for Roma than the Bosnian international, who at just €15m has turned out to be one of the biggest bargains in the club’s history.
Ever since he was signed from Manchester City in 2015, Dzeko has worked his way up to the top of the squad, and now wears the captain’s armband following the departure of Alessandro Florenzi to Valencia in the January transfer window.
With his contract still running until 2022, after he extended his deal in the summer, there is still plenty of time for Dzeko to climb even further up the ladder in Roma’s goalscoring charts.
