Spinazzola signs for Roma as Pellegrini joins Juventus

Roma have completed the signing of Leonardo Spinazzola from Juventus, in a deal which sees fellow left-back Luca Pellegrini move the other way.

Italy international Spinazzola signs a four-year contract with Roma reportedly worth €3m per season.

Spinazzola, 26, is a Juventus academy product, who after a series of loans finally got his breakthrough as a Serie A regular with Atalanta in 2016. Juventus took him back to Turin after a positive two-year loan, and he was finally handed his debut earlier this year after recovering from injury problems.

The operation is worth €29.5m, with €22m of that coming from the sale of Roma academy product Pellegrini – who spent the second half of last year on loan at Cagliari.

Spinazzola, who completed his medical on Saturday, told Roma’s official website: “It’s a great feeling to be here. Since I was a child I have always had an affinity for Roma – in part because they’ve always played good football.

“The city is amazing and the fans are so passionate. I am happy to be part of this new project with the new coach.”

Benvenuto, Leonardo.
