Roma v Milan preview: Lukaku welcomed to Stadio Olimpico – but will he debut?

Roma will be introducing Romelu Lukaku to his new home crowd on Friday at Stadio Olimpico, but there is also the very important matter of their last match before the September international break, against AC Milan.

Aiming for their first win of the season at the third attempt, Roma just so happen to be coming up against their toughest obstacle since the campaign began, as they welcome one of the five teams that finished above them in Serie A last season.

Milan are top of the formative standings this season after winning their first two games, against Bologna and Torino. Only three other teams have 100% records, even at this early stage.

In terms of the predicted lineups, some sources reckon Evan Ndicka could make his debut for the club, while Lukaku would only be able to make his from the bench, if at all. Meanwhile, Paulo Dybala is aiming to come on as a substitute to play some part, although he might not manage it. A more likely sight in the attacking line would be Stephan El Shaarawy against his former club.

Milan’s XI, meanwhile, could contain two English players, Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. A third former Chelsea man, Olivier Giroud, is one of the early leaders in the race for the golden boot in Serie A after scoring three times so far.

The game is scheduled to start at 7:45pm UK time and will be available to watch live on TNT Sports 1, whose coverage will begin 15 minutes before the kick off.
