On the same day that some people celebrate the foundation of AS Roma, one of the club’s best ever players also celebrates his birthday.
On 7th June, 1970, Marcos Evangelista de Moraes was born in Brazil. He would go on to become known as Cafu, and also as one of the best players in the history of football.
The attacking right-back was a trailblazer of the modern game, and he spent some of his prime years with Roma – helping the club win their third ever league title in 2001.
While he only ever scored eight goals for Roma – a surprising statistic, given how much he liked to adventure forwards – he is regarded as one of their best ever players, and is a member of the club Hall of Fame.
But how much do you know about Cafu’s time in the capital?
In the first of two quizzes all about the Roma legend that will be posted today, there are 15 multiple choice questions for you to answer all about Cafu.
Once you’ve had a go, don’t forget to share your score on Twitter, Facebook, or by commenting on this post – and remember how you’ve done so you can compare it to your score in the second quiz later today.
