Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen has ended his short stay in South Yorkshire, switching a loan spell with Sheffield United for one with Aston Villa.
Olsen left Roma for Sheffield United in the summer, marking his third loan spell away from the club after previous stints with Cagliari and Everton.
However, he couldn’t nail down a regular place with the Championship side, whose agreement has now been cancelled.
Instead, he will spend the rest of the season back in the Premier League with Villa, where he will serve as deputy to Emiliano Martinez.
Olsen made 11 appearances for Sheffield United, only keeping one clean sheet. They hadn’t played him since early November. Back in his sole Roma season, he kept seven clean sheets from 35 games.
His contract back in Rome expires in 2023. Villa will have the option to buy Olsen this summer should his latest loan go better.
