Eric Dier and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are two of the Tottenham players Jose Mourinho could try to bring to Roma, according to reports.
Just weeks after his exit from Tottenham was confirmed, Mourinho was unveiled as the next Roma manager, starting from the 2021-22 season. The announcement has led to much anticipation, especially due to the appeal he could have in the transfer market.
According to Corriere Dello Sport, he could try to tempt two of his recent players to follow him from north London to Rome. Dier and Hojbjerg are reportedly being eyed as potential options.
Hojbjerg has impressed since his summer switch from Southampton to Tottenham, so it seems unlikely they would be willing to get rid of him so soon. But Mourinho was a big factor in his form, so an instant reunion would be interesting.
As for England international Dier, Mourinho completed his transition back into being a central defender. He has divided opinion before, but earned praise from Roma’s new boss during their time together.
Elsewhere, Football.London have suggested Lucas Moura could be an option, as may a return for Erik Lamela. However, it all seems speculative at this stage.
Whether Spurs would be willing to help their recently dismissed coach would be up for question, but if anything, there is at least an indication of the type of moves Mourinho might make.
