Roma Women have wasted no time in replacing Rachele Baldi by bringing in Emma Lind as their new backup goalkeeper.
Baldi left Roma to join Napoli on Monday, prompting the club to find a replacement to provide competition for number one Camelia Ceasar.
Their search led them to Lind, a 26-year-old Swedish shot-stopper. She has signed a contract with the club until June 2023.
Lind said on asroma.com: “I look forward to experiencing the culture of Italian football and being part of a league that is realising its full potential.
“I hope to be able to contribute with the experience I have gained from games in other leagues. I have come here to help the team win matches and trophies.”
Lind most recently represented German side Turbine Potsdam. Roma’s Head of Women’s Football, Betty Bavagnoli, thinks such experiences can equip her for success in Serie A Femminile.
Bavagnoli added: “We are really pleased to have added Emma to our squad.
“She is a great goalkeeper and a great person and we will rely on both her presence and experience.
“This is not the first time she has opted to play her football a long way from home, underlining the character she has.”
