Arkadiusz Milik is currently undergoing his medical ahead of a move to Roma, which will see Edin Dzeko leave for Juventus.

As things stand, Milik will be the only centre-forward at Roma next season, with Nikola Kalinic not having returned after his loan spell from Atletico Madrid.

Hence, Roma need a back-up, and they could turn to one of their own.

According to Corriere Giallorosso, Gianluca Scamacca is an option for the attack.

The 21-year-old was born in Rome and came through the club’s academy before leaving for PSV in 2015. He returned to Italy with Sassuolo two years later, but has spent most of the time since out on loan in the lower divisions.

Last season, he had a successful year with Ascoli in Serie B, and actually finished as the joint-top scorer in the Coppa Italia.

News emerged yesterday that Roma are now considering Scamacca as their potential new back-up striker.
