Smalling ‘one step away’ from Roma

According to Fabrizio Romano, backing up previous reports from Calciomercato, Roma are now “one step away” from signing Chris Smalling for around €15m.
Lopez to leave for Everton?

Things have not gone to plan for Pau Lopez recently, with Antonio Mirante starting the first three games of the season instead of the Spaniard.
There could be a late opportunity for Lopez to leave Roma on transfer deadline day. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, he has become a target for Everton.
Carlo Ancelotti is no stranger to the Italian market, of course, and could take Lopez to replace Jordan Pickford as their first choice.
Kluivert could join Leipzig on loan

The winger is out of favour at Roma, and according to Fabrizio Romano, RB Leipzig are now in advanced talks to sign him on loan.
RomaPress add that Stephan El Shaarawy could return on loan to replace him.
Perotti set for Fenerbahce

Various sources indicate that the winger will join Fenerbahce in the coming hours after agreeing to a move to Turkey.
Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo claims that the transfer will be free for Fenerbahce, but will help reduce Roma’s wage bill.
Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport also expects the transfer to go through this weekend – potentially even today.

Roma have confirmed the signing of Borja Mayoral from Real Madrid on an initial loan deal.
The Spanish striker joins on a two-year loan deal that includes an option to buy.

Fazio set for Sampdoria

Federico Fazio is close to leaving Roma to join Sampdoria, according to reports.
The Argentine centre-back has not featured in Roma’s squad for their first two games of the season and could be about to call time on his career in the capital.
Angelo Mangiante of Sky Sport backs up earlier reports that Fazio is a firm objective for Sampdoria, who will be able to sign him once they sell one of their players.
Meanwhile, he also confirms that Roma are close to signing Borja Mayoral from Real Madrid as expected.
Roma make ‘signficant progress’ with Smalling

According to the highly-respected David Ornstein of The Athletic, Roma have made “significant progress” in their attempts to sign him from Manchester United, with the deal down to the “final details”.
Roma officials have been in Manchester over the past 24 hours to thrash out a deal. It looks like the deal could close for more than €15m.
Roma submit new Smalling offer

According to Angelo Mangiante of Sky Sport, Roma have submitted a new offer worth €15m for the Englishman. Add-ons could increase the value of the bid.
The club are now awaiting Manchester United’s response before likely turning their attention to other targets.
Vlahovic an option for the attack

This time, the man in question is Dusan Vlahovic. The 20-year-old has impressed for Fiorentina, and could be an ideal profile for the attack.
According to various sources, including Leggo and Il Messaggero, Roma are interested in the Serbian. The latter source even says contact has been made with his agent.
Fiorentina value Vlahovic at around €25m, but would be willing to sell for the right offer.
