Roma send Ruben Providence on loan to Club Brugge with option to buy

Ruben Providence will spend the 2021-22 season away from Roma on loan with Club Brugge.

Providence joined Roma’s Primavera side from PSG’s academy in 2019 but is yet to make a first-team breakthrough. He may have had a chance towards the back end of last season were it not for an injury.

Now back in shape, the winger will play for Club Brugge for the 2021-22 season. The Belgian side will have the option to buy him as well, meaning he may never get to play a senior game for Roma, despite signing a contract extension in November last year.

The 20-year-old had also been linked with Premier League club Southampton, but will instead be playing in Belgium this year, and potentially beyond.
