Roma have been linked with a move for Nemanja Matic following the appointment of Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho is a big fan of Matic, having signed him in his second spell at Chelsea and then for Manchester United. However, he has fallen out of favour at the latter and may be on the lookout for a new home.
Another reunion with Mourinho could be an option. According to Gianluigi Longari of SportItalia, first contacts have been made.
Roma are reportedly seeking information about the 32-year-old’s situation. He is still under contract in Manchester until 2023, but it is not clear how much United might be looking for as a transfer fee.
Whether this move materialises remains to be seen but it might make sense if it did come off.
Matic is the second Man Utd player to be linked with Roma after Mourinho’s appointment; there were rumours about goalkeeper David De Gea earlier on Wednesday.
