It’s official: Roma have secured one of their dream signings for the summer, Matias Soule – and their next dream might not be far off coming true either.
The Argentine winger has joined from Juventus for a package worth €25.6m, rising to €30m, which puts him in Roma’s top 10 most expensive signings of all time. He has signed a contract lasting until 2029.
A winger, Soule stood out last season during a loan spell with Frosinone, for whom he scored 11 goals under the guidance of ex-Roma coach and player Eusebio Di Francesco.
After several rounds of negotiations, Roma have won the race to offer him his next step by sealing a permanent transfer for the 21-year-old.
Soule will wear the number 18 shirt for Roma.

Next on the agenda for Florent Ghisolfi will be to enhance the attack even further with the signing of Girona centre-forward, Artem Dovbyk. Roma have been in negotiations for the Ukrainian striker and Ghisolfi has travelled to Spain today aiming to close another big-money move.
Giallorossi Yorkshire verdict
While Soule doesn’t yet have the same star status as Paulo Dybala on a global scale, this is one of Roma’s most exciting signings in a long time.
There was a glaring need for new wingers in the squad to enhance Roma’s creativity and in Soule they have picked up one of the most suitable they could have got their hands on. His dribbling ability in particular will highlight him as a major asset.
The interesting thing now will be to see where he fits in. Soule is a left-footed right-winger, which means he may want to be situated where Dybala was towards the end of last season.
That in itself might not be a problem, since it’s already been highlighted how Dybala could have more influence more centrally, now hopefully behind a big new striker like Artem Dovbyk. But the task for Daniele De Rossi will be to determine how Roma’s most dangerous attackers can co-exist.
Soule will certainly be one of them.
