Roma legend Roberto Pruzzo believes the current side can fight for the Serie A title this season.
After a positive start under Paulo Fonseca, Roma are currently in fourth place, seven points off league leaders Inter Milan and Juventus, and one behind Lazio.
Pruzzo knows a thing or two about what it takes to win a Scudetto, having been Roma’s top scorer when they won the league in the 1982-83 season.
And, speaking to Radio Radio Mattino, the legendary striker claimed the current team are capable of competing at the top.
“Roma can think big, they have shown it on the field,” he said. “They lost five points against Sampdoria and Parma, otherwise they would have been there with the top two.
“Lazio and Roma can challenge Inter and Juventus for the Scudetto.
“Fonseca is doing well, despite the slightly uncertain start, then he has been good, perhaps also by necessity.”
