Paloma Lazaro pens new terms with Roma Women until 2023

Roma Women have confirmed that Paloma Lazaro will be staying with the club until 2023.

Lazaro joined Roma in the summer of 2020 and hit the ground running, with six goals from her first seven games.

Her form tailed off in the second half of last season, but she did score a crucial goal in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia, a competition Roma went on to win.

Lazaro faces fresh competition for her place up front this season from summer signing Valeria Pirone, who has been the main starter so far.

However, the Spaniard sent a reminder of her own qualities with a brilliant brace against Hellas Verona at the weekend.

Just a few days after, she has committed her future to the club until the end of next season.

She told the club website: “I am delighted to continue playing for Roma, a club with ambitious plans for the future.

“We are one of the clubs that has grown most in the last few seasons, as we showed last with our amazing victory in the Coppa Italia.

“I want to continue playing and fighting for this team – I hope to score lots of goals and help my teammates reach all the targets we have.”

So far, Lazaro has scored 13 goals from 33 appearances in Roma colours.
