Henrikh Mkhitaryan has revealed his pleasure after his permanent move to Roma was confirmed.
Mkhitaryan was one of Roma’s strongest players in 2019-20, contributing nine goals and six assists as he enjoyed a particular flourish towards the end of the season.
Roma confirmed late in June that they had reached a preliminary agreement to keep Mkhitaryan for next season, after his positive loan spell from Arsenal.
Now, Arsenal have confirmed they have rescinded Mkhitaryan’s contract, meaning the Armenian international is officially a Roma player.
Upon the confirmation of the news, Mkhitaryan expressed his delight on Twitter.
“I’m delighted to announce that I’ve permanently joined the Giallorossi,” he wrote.
“I’d like to thank Arsenal, its personnel and the millions of Gunners all [of] whom supported me over the past [one-and-a-half years].
“A special thanks to [Arsene] Wenger for having brought me to the club and for his trust in me.

Reports indicate that Mkhitaryan will sign a one-year contract with Roma, with the option for a further year.
