Daniele Verde has signed a contract with AEK Athens, marking his permanent departure from Roma.
Verde broke into the first team under Rudi Garcia in 2015, making two assists on his first start against Cagliari, but the Naples-born winger was then sent out on a series of loan spells – most recently at Real Valladolid, who are partially owned by former Inter Milan and Real Madrid striker Ronaldo.
Verde’s contract at Roma was due to expire next summer, meaning a sale had to be made since he was not part of first team plans. That sale has now arrived, with Greek side AEK Athens the destination.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma earn €1m for the 23-year-old, while retaining a 30% sell-on clause for his next transfer.
Good luck, Daniele.
