Roma returned to winning ways with a comeback against Cagliari in a game that ended 2-1.
After going behind, Roma levelled things up via Roger Ibanez, before Lorenzo Pellegrini won it with a free kick.
Looking to halt a run of three games without a win, Roma would have had some worries after Leonardo Pavoletti put the opponents ahead in the 52nd minute.
After Matias Vina failed to head away a cross, the ball was played into Pavoletti’s path by one of his teammates and he converted from close range.
Roma searched for a response, with birthday boy Stephan El Shaarawy going fairly close with an overhead kick.
That chance came after a Rick Karsdorp cross, and another led to an outstretched Pellegrini hitting the bar.
Pellegrini would have a decisive impact via two set pieces, though, to turn the game around.
First, his corner was headed in by Ibanez to level things up in the 71st minute. Then, seven minutes later, he stole the headlines with a stunning free kick that flew into the top corner.
The win means Roma are fourth in the Serie A table after 10 games.
