Roma are back at Stadio Olimpico for their first home game of 2022-23 on Monday night.
Promoted side Cremonese are the visitors to the capital, where Roma have not tasted defeat since January. They will be hoping their home form this season starts as well as it ended last term.
After beating Salernitana on their travels last week, while Cremonese were losing late on to Fiorentina, Roma will go into this game as favourites.
The history between the two sides also favours Roma. Although they have not faced Cremonese since 1996, they have won 10 out of 14 games against that particular opponent in the past.
This time, Mourinho has a practically full squad available to him, with the exception of Ebrima Darboe due to an injury that will be long-term and, agonisingly, Gini Wijnaldum after a leg fracture in training. At a pre-match press conference before, Mourinho confirmed fellow new signing Nemanja Matic is fit to play after a debut from the bench last week, which could be of increased importance now.
Mourinho also spoke glowingly of Lorenzo Pellegrini’s versatility, though, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him continue alongside last week’s standout player, Bryan Cristante.
In defence, Gianluca Mancini is likely to make his 100th Serie A appearance in a Roma shirt. It remains to be seen what kind of a test Cremonese will bring against the backline.
The game kicks off at 5:30pm UK time and will be live on BT Sport 1.
